We understand your industry and its challenges

Digital transformation

Over the next few years, the leisure, tourism and hospitality sector will face a shift towards moving many of its service facilitators online. As a result, the industry needs to be prepared for a complete digital transformation and ensure that infrastructure and ecosystems are in place to continue to service your customers in the best way possible. However, it's equally important that brands ensure that their online and offline plans are cohesive and follow the same overall strategy in order to meet business goals.

Diversification of experiences

In order to stay relevant and offer choice to customers, many brands in this sector are diversyfying their offerings. Hotels are no longer just a comfy bed to sleep in, but restaurants and spas. Gin distilleries are no longer just tours, but cinemas and wedding venues. We understand the importance of marketing customer experiences, that still fit perfectly within the same strong brand narrative.

Changes to accessibility requirements

With such a diverse audience demographic, accessibility needs to be front of mind in this industry. It's important therefore to be aware of W3C standards by conforming to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 (WCAG). However, change is coming and new guidelines for WCAG 3.0 are on the horizon. Even though this doesn't deprecate WCAG 2.2, it will be the new standard for accessibility and building compliant websites from a point of empathy.

Cyber security

Working closely with vast amounts of personal data, and with the world becoming increasingly digital-led, it's imperative that the leisure, tourism and hospitality industry is exemplary in all things cyber security, ensuring any vulnerabilities that could lead to accessing networks, data and confidential information are mitigated if not wholly eliminated.

Necessity for personalisation

As an industry, and with particular emphasis on hotels, we know that customers want to feel valued and special. Personalisation is no longer considered a 'nice to have' but a 'must have' and brands need to set up to provide this deeper level of service, all the way from personalised marketing and website visits, to in-room welcome messaging.

Reduce dependency on OTAs

Relying on Online Travel Agencies, or online aggregate booking engines, comes at a price.
We know from our clients that the goal is to reduce dependency on these resources and drive more direct traffic and bookings for their hotels, experiences, attractions, etc.

Pressure on procurement

Rising inflation and high interest rates are resulting in limited budgets and resources, putting an increasing amount of pressure on procurement teams. Internal systems and processes which have not yet been streamlined or automated will in turn be adding to this burden. Procurement activities must operate within the confines of specific frameworks, strong moral judgement and tight budgets while trying to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
