Senior Account Manager
David OswaldSenior Account Manager
David has over 10 years of experience working in account management delivering digital and branding projects for a variety of clients in multiple sectors.
Having started off at a brand design agency in London, following his graduation from Bournemouth University he now works closely with both the creative and development teams to deliver digital projects from digital strategy through to UAT and deployment.
He has worked with clients spanning both the public and private sectors across retail, healthcare, housing, transport and professional services. Clients to date have included; Heathrow Airport, NHS Blood & Transplant, Serco, Infinity Motorcycles, Bombay Sapphire and the Stopgap Group.
Guy NicholsonCreative Lead
Guy has more than 20 years experience as a leading creative across a vast spectrum of brand activation and visual communication.
Specialising in brand definition and development, his areas of expertise include identity, illustration, off-line brand experience and digital.
He has worked for many national and international clients in the pharmaceutical, food and drink, sport, entertainment, marine and financial service sectors, to name a few. Some of the brands he has worked on include British Olympic Association, Sunseeker, Motorola, Hampshire Cricket, Daler Rowney, Barclays, Kenwood and Pfizer.
Guy is a Member of the Chartered Society of Designers.
Hannah ButcherMarketing Manager
With over nine years of experience in the marketing industry, Hannah has worked both client and agency side to create strategies and deliver results.
Hannah specialises in digital marketing, with a background covering SEO, social media, influencer outreach, as well as content strategy and production. She has also spoken at numerous industry conferences such as the Content Marketing Show and BrightonSEO.
A graduate of the University of Chester, Hannah has a BA (Hons) in Journalism. She has worked with a broad range of clients, including Expedia, Miele, Audley Travel, Barratt Homes and Travelex.
Ian MumfordCreative Director
Ian is a brand strategist and creative with over 17 years experience in building brands and delivering creative communications. He leads on all strategy, identity and activation output, specialising in brand definition, transformation and multi-channel experience.
He has worked locally, nationally and internationally in the mobile communications, oil and gas, transport, property and financial services sectors to name a few. He has worked on some of the worlds leading brands including BP, Motorola, Laithwaites Wines, Bombay Sapphire, The AA, Allianz and Serco.
Ian has a first class BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
Jacqui SanwellOperations Director
Jacqui has 35 years of experience working for local, national and global businesses, 15 of those years have been with the Escape.
Jacqui’s focus is on the profit and loss of the business so all things financial are part of her daily diet.
Originally starting in international sales support with Vickers. Jacqui later moved into a domestic sales environment with Apple and then DEC. Here Jacqui became the first co-ordinator to be recognised for billing over £1million for a specific product line due to her “small-print” knowledge of the contract. Deciding to change direction Jacqui then took on the role of managing a smaller local business that was “making a loss”. Within 3 years the debts were gone, suppliers and customers were happy and the business was in profit.
Industry experience includes manufacturing, health, consultancy, marketing, IT and print production.
John PikeSenior Creative
John is a strategic creative with over 8 years of industry experience. He specialises in brand definition and digital communication with skills covering conceptualisation, brand identity, user interfacing (UI) and user experience (UX).
He has worked for many local, national and international clients in the recruitment, housing, oil and gas and managed services sectors to name a few. He has worked closely with brands including BP, Stopgap, Infinity Motorcycles, Serco and Vivid (Previously Sentinel HA).
John has a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
Lee MartinWeb developer
Lee is a full stack web developer with over 15 years experience designing and developing interactive websites and web applications.
He has worked with some of the worlds leading brands including Audi, Volkswagen, World Wildlife Fund, Royal Navy, Channel 4, Lords Cricket Ground and Cambridge & Oxford Universities, where he developed custom ecommerce, order fulfilment and content management systems.
Lee prides himself on being a creative thinker and enjoys pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the web. He has a passion for creating clean, reusable code and has a keen interest in 3D graphics and animation.
Lucy WalkerAccount Director
Lucy has over 7 years of specialist digital experience working both agency and client-side, helping brands to achieve and exceed their online goals.
Having managed a brand’s in-house digital strategy, as well as leading a team of account and project managers in a fast-paced agency environment, Lucy has project management and leadership experience across the hospitality, leisure and lifestyle sectors.
Previously working in London, Lucy swapped the commute for the green fields of Hampshire in 2017 where she now heads up account strategy at The Escape.
She has worked with local, national and international brands and continues to build on her experience with a wide range of clients including Bombay Sapphire, Vivid Homes and Serco.
Lucy is a qualified Prince 2 Practitioner, has a foundation degree in Art & Design from the University of the Arts London, and a BA in History of Art from the University of Leeds.
Pawel NowakLead Developer
Pawel is an enthusiastic full-stack programmer and is team lead of the development team at The Escape.
He has over 10 years experience working on large and small projects, both client and agency side. He has delivered professional solutions for web and mobile for numerous well known brands including Oracle, Fujitsu, Bombay Sapphire, Serco and others.
Pawel has a genuine passion for programming. He continually pushes himself to learn, optimising his expertise and improving his knowledge base. He smoothly works across the LAMP stack, using the very latest technologies. He also likes to use Google's Golang for building fast and reliable RESTful micro web services, and Java for Android app development.
Although completely unrelated to web development, he proudly holds a Masters degree in History from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland.
Philip BirkettAccount Manager
Philip has over 3 years experience in marketing and communications managing brand and digital projects for start-ups and SMEs in a broad range of sectors.
Philip began his career at one of the top 20 architecture practices in the UK before moving to a Solent-based marketing agency, leading projects in the commercial property, marine and tech sectors.
Now an Account Manager at the Escape, he works with the creative and development teams, applying his marketing and communications expertise to deliver on and offline projects across a range of clients.
Philip has a first-class BA (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
Rob JonesManaging Director
Rob has over 23 years experience working in the creative services industry. He started his career as New Business Development Manager at a print and design company, eventually leading to a decision to 'escape'…. and the rest, as they say... is history.
Rob oversees the day-to-day running of the business, works closely with the account management team and is responsible for sales, marketing and new business.
Throughout his agency career, he’s applied his business acumen to household brand names including Bombay Sapphire, Warner Bros., Symantec, Time Warner, DHL, Guinness Trust, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Breast Cancer Care, ITW and Serco, to name a few.
Thomas L'HeureuxSenior Creative
Thomas is a multi-disciplined graphic designer, digital artist and illustrator. Originally self-taught, he honed his skills at University Of The Arts London (LCC) and has been working at The Escape since December 2015. Previous to that he worked for creative agencies in London and Windsor, and enjoyed a fledgling freelance career as a specialist image maker, primarily in the world of sport.
Thomas is well versed in all things brand, digital — by means of web, app and iBook design, UX and illustration. He has worked with some of the world’s leading brands including Apple, Disney, IHG, Elektra Records, Warner Bros., Top Rank Boxing, and the London 2012 Olympics but is also incredibly passionate about adding value and having an influence on start-ups and local businesses.
Tomasz KwiatkowskiSenior Developer
Tommy is a full stack developer with over 9 years experience creating web applications and websites for brands like Regus, Avensure, Fosterdenovo, Infinity Motorcycles and Warner Bros.
Tommy specialises in building secure and well optimized back-end systems. He also has a passion for creating dynamic user interfaces with interactive components. Tommy is a master when it comes to attention to detail and prides himself on his 'right first time' approach.
Tommy has a BSc in Engineering with a specialisation in Information Technology from the Katowice Institute of Information Technologies, Poland.
Tom HopkinsFront-end Developer
Tom is a front-end web developer with 3 years experience. Tom works closely with designers and the full stack/backend developers to create new and interesting web applications, pushing forward The Escape digital experience proposition with each project.
Tom has worked on brands such as Warner Bros., RedRock Consulting and The Benyon Estate to name a few.
Collaborating with designers, he excels at implementing the tiny interactional details and animations that make a website come to life. Tom also ensures each design is the best it can be viewed on a large range of devices and browsers, allowing customer's web applications to reach their audiences and be effective and impactful digital experiences.
Tom has a BSc in Computer Science from University of Kent, Canterbury UK.

As big dog at the Escape, Harley has ten years experience of chilling out in design studios. He prides himself with his skills of sitting on peoples feet, blocking doorways and calming down the studio. All the stress goes away when Harley's in the farmhouse. His interests include sleeping, broccoli and Ian's lunch and following dad (Guy) around.
