A little bit about the project
This is what you might call a 'true creative love affair'.
Sometimes a project comes along that ignites the collective passion of the team and this was a classic case in point. The opportunity to be involved with defining and shaping the brand for a new Priority Bus Route (also called BRT - Bus Rapid Transit) between Gosport and Fareham was, and still is, right up our street (no pun intended... much).
Pitch presented and won. Name confirmed. Creative tweaked, perfected and approved... on came the task of making the busway a reality (not in our remit admittedly) and getting our brand rubber-stamped all over it. And how we've enjoyed making it happen. The brand was unveiled (officially) to the world on the 4th of November last year, but we'd been beavering away in the background for quite some time, putting together everything from brand guidelines to billboards, posters to leaflets... and there's still sooooo much more to come.
A quick synopsis of 'what all the fuss is about'... the busway is designed to be a 'better bus experience', with leather seats, Wi-Fi, traffic updates and real-time information, so the brand had to suggest and reflect this quality and superiority, without excluding the regular bus users that would still make their daily trip on 'The Eclipse' (subtle way of dropping the name in there eh?). We wanted the marketing to represent the future of bus travel, as well as using colour and style to position its aspirational values.
It's early days for the marketing but you can see where we're taking things. The route officially opened on 25 April (we were there, instantly recognisable as the ones quite literally glowing with pride and sounding the fanfares), so get yourself down to Fareham or Gosport now and get your slice of the 'Eclipse experience'.
