A new website for the Englefield Estate

There’s a fair bit going on this week at the Englefield Estate. According to ‘hello’ magazine there’s a particularly high-profile wedding happening there this weekend (20.05.17) so it was only fitting that we launched a new website for the Estate just in time for it.

To ensure that our new website is fit for Royalty, we’ve been on a journey of brand and digital development with the Englefield Estate over the last year. We started working with the Estate back in 2016 to help them launch their new brand identity and to develop their identity guidelines. From here, we were then commissioned to design and develop a brand new responsive website. The objective: to help position the Estate as a more commercial business, drive enquiries for their event and location hire offering and tell the story of their wider purpose in the community.
The process began with a series of audience and content mapping workshops to help identify who the website needed to communicate with and what content it required. From here, we then launched straight into sitemap, user experience planning and high-fidelity interactive wireframes. We knew at this stage that the website would need to be highly visual – after all, it’s a beautiful place, so this was going to be key in order to really sell the Estate and its offering.
Whilst the design stage was underway, we commissioned our photographer to shoot the various features of the Estate that we had previously identified as being key areas of content for the new site. This process would continue right the way through front end and back end development. For the build we utilised a PHP Laravel custom content management system with LAMP stack, SOLR search and HTML and CSS for the front end.
It’s an exciting time for the Englefield Estate (not only for this wedding) but also for everything else going forwards. We’re thrilled to be working with them on a variety of other marketing activities, so stay tuned. In the meantime, please feel free to take a look at the new website.
In our opinion it truly is fit for Royalty.
