With a new set of values and vision for the future, Englefield Estates looked to bring their communications in line with their new corporate identity.
The Escape was charged with creating a new look and feel for the Estate’s annual review – The Englefield Echo.
The Englefield Estate has outstanding heritage but also has a clear vision of it’s future as a modern, flexible organisation. With this in mind the design of The Echo needed to combine the old with the new, highlighting the values, land, buildings, and most important of all, the people who work on, live in and visit the Estate.
Initial layout designs were created, experimenting with a multi width grid that would allow design flexibility and definition of feature articles and general stories. With the design sorted, Hype Photography was commissioned to produce an extensive selection of stunning images to support the content of the articles.
The grid allowed the photography to shine through, creating a visually stimulating read. Using Englefield Estate’s classic corporate font Garamond, sitting cheek by jowel alongside the contemporary feel of Univers Condensed for feature titles, the heritage and the modern sat respectfully together.
Once the layout out was complete it was time to talk (and touch!) some lovely paper stocks. We felt something tactile was required. Something that would encourage readers to repeatedly pick up the magazine and make it a pleasure to hold while reading it. An uncoated Acroprint extra white stock was chosen that reflected the classic quality and heritage that the Estate stands for but also its smoothness gave it that contemporary touch.
We’re very pleased to say that we have had some impressive feed back across the board for the new look to the Englefield Echo. Even from the Secretary of The Estates Business Group, whose members include Chatsworth, Woburn, Alnwick, Grosvenor, Cadogan, saying ‘this is quite the best’ estate magazine!
Now that’s a result!
Don't forget to check out the new responsive website we have also recently completed for the Englefield Estate too. We're looking forward to continuing our successful relationship!
