The Escape - Design, Marketing and Web Agency in Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK

this agency needs YOU

We're looking for a friendly-organised-experienced-blow-your-socks-off-talented-multi-tasking, senior account manager to join our team.

Sound like you? Good stuff.

First and foremost, it's as much about your personality as 'what you can do on the job'. As you'll know only too well, it's a people role, so finding a truly approachable 'people-person' that's going to be a friendly-fit with our clients, as well as us, is top of our priority list. We're dead easy to get on with. We're a small (but expanding) and talented group and teamwork is our 'thang', so if you're a lone ranger, thanks, but you need not apply.

Getting down to business then, this is what you need to be (in a not so concise nutshell)…

You'll be an agency-experienced, senior account manager who knows how to make projects tick. You'll be happy (and comfortable) managing a broad spectrum of projects across multiple accounts and will relish being the main point of contact on a daily basis. You'll not be afraid to get your hands dirty either. Client management is great, but we're do-ers so you'll be expected to be hands on with the project management side of things. You'll know how to develop an account, spot opportunities, manage relationships and be the lynch-pin between the client and the creative/technical teams. Oh, and you'll thrive in a presentation too. You will have been involved in everything we do so it's only right you're there 'doing your bit' when we're in the boardroom.

Clear communication will be the ace in your pack. You'll be (more than) comfy face to face, on the phone or on email. Putting together a project scope, cost proposal, functionality spec or brief will (just slightly) excite you. Plain English will be a challenge when it comes to the techy stuff, but we'd like to think you'll know how to soften language so everyone understands where we're coming from. As for trouble-shooting, it'll be a walk in the park for a hot shot like you.

Spreadsheets, project schedules, and keeping everything running to plan will be an every day occurrence and (like it or loathe it) excel will live in your dock. You'll also have a ridiculously keen eye. Quality control and attention to detail is as important as tea and coffee here (yep - THAT important), so you'll be happy checking everything and anything before it goes out of our farmhouse door.

In addition to communication being your ace, your knowledge and management of digital projects will be a very close second. You will have been there and done it online (too many times to mention). You'll know your CMS's, when its right to use what, analytics, SEO, email, apps and social 'stuff'. We don't expect you to be a complete expert, but knowing more than most is key. After all, digital stuff makes up a big chunk of our day to day. You'll also have an ear to the ground for what's changing in the digital world as the hot topic of this week will (probably) be different next week.

You'll have a slightly unhealthy addiction to budgets. You'll know what a project is worth commercially, how much we've spent and whether a PO has been raised or not. You'll also know how to let all our lovely clients know when the fifth round of amends they've just briefed in has taken them over budget (don't worry, we never let it get to this stage, but you get the flow of what we mean).

We'd also like to think that, because you've been doing this a while, you 'get' marketing. You'll either have a bit of paper at your mum and dad's that says you do, or you'll have learned enough over the years to know how this works. We're often an extension of our clients marketing department, so knowing 'why' were doing stuff, putting together a strategy or 'plan' as well as 'what's' likely to work (or not) is all part of the day job. You'll just slightly love it too. Seeing what we do make a difference is very exciting so we'd expect to see you 'bubbling' with passion and enjoying the 'bubbly' when the hard work has paid off.

And what about you as a person? Because that's as important as anything you can do work-wise.

You'll be a smiler. A friendly face about the house and in front of clients too. You'll like a bit of a banter, hearing what whoever did at the weekend, as well as attending the odd social event. You'll be a team player, flexible, willing, honest and open, and you'll never be afraid to learn something new. You'll know your way around a Mac and the usual software and as much as we're not worried about a few points on your licence (we all do… don't we?), it does help if you've got some wheels so you can get around.

And you know what? There's probably loads more to this role, but hey, if you've got this far, you must think you've got what it takes and be feeling a tinge of that 'fluttery excited feeling' in your tummy. Yeah… that's it… that's the one.

You'll know what you're worth too (as we will) so the right package (oo-er) is ready and waiting for the right person.

So, if you've 'got it'… it's time to shout. Email us your cv, give us a call or do something that makes us sit up and take notice.

We're (really) looking forward to hearing from you.
