OK. I'll come straight out with it... my name's Tony and I'm a Web addict!
Actually, information junkie would probably be closer to the mark, but whichever way you describe it, I certainly spend a great deal of time on-line rummaging around the digital debris we call the Internet.
I suppose I was born to surf. Not the shark-food kind of surfing you understand, but the scrutinising, analysing and optimising kind that helps put our customers' websites on the 'radar' of the most popular search engines.
Another important aspect of my role is that of wordsmith [ \'wərd-ˌsmith\ ] which pretty much boils down to composing webpage content in a way that can generate attention, create impact, stimulate desire and prompt action. (Now where have I heard that before? - Ed.).
Someone once said that statistics can be defined as "a body of methods for making wise decisions in the face of uncertainty."
Well, it's an uncertain world out there... as the man who drowned crossing a stream with an average depth of six inches would most likely have testified.
