Client brief
- To create a content managed web site that fulfils the needs of two distinct audiences - Consumers and Trade Agents & Operators.
- An easy to use system for updating generic information pages and bespoke pages, such as weather and travel updates, ferry deals, photo libraries, etc.
- Provide secure areas for trade members to access specific information.
- Provide a user interface that is quick and easy for a visitor to understand.
The result
The key to any successful website is to fully understand the commercial objectives. This web site was created in conjunction with the client's design agency, who designed the interface. We enhanced all key areas for usability of the web site, to increase final effective use, including a powerful search function.
The CMS web application complies with web standards and accessibility legislation and allows for the client to allocate various user groups (Human Resources, Police, Port Information Officers and Operators) to access and modify specified areas of the site, with multi-administration.
The CMS also has an image library module for storing the ports large library of images for online use.
