RSS advice

What is an RSS feed?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way of packaging information in a nice parcel so that it can be distributed in a generic format.

It's a bit like taking a web page, taking bits of it and placing the relevant information in a set of fields (like a database). This file (the RSS feed) is then in a format that can be distributed widely.

The most common use of an RSS feed is a Blog. You can subscribe to the feed and every time the author posts a new story, or Blog post, your feed updates itself.

The beauty of it is that you have complete power over your subscription. If you get bored, you unsubscribe.
